分析家們認為由于中東地區(qū)油價居高不下,建筑行業(yè)迅速發(fā)展,世界水泥價格上漲到45美金每噸,比去年同期增加了40%。對此,受益最大的是沿海水泥公司,大量的水泥出口減少了他們由于當(dāng)?shù)厮嘈枨笙陆祹淼挠绊憽?nbsp;

Mideast-fired prices to feed Indian cement profits
Indian cement makers are expected to report robust profit growth in the July-September quarter, as prices rose during an otherwise slow construction period due to strong demand from the Middle East.
Analysts were bullish on the sector, with good housing demand and the Indian government's commitment to improve roads, airports and seaports set to drive cement demand in an economy that is Asia's fourth-biggest and the world's eighth fastest-growing.
Full-year earnings growth forecasts for the top cement firms range from 13 percent for Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd. to 55 percent for Associated Cement Companies Ltd. .
But the key cement stocks have already rallied between 5 and 14 percent in 2004, compared with a 3.5 percent drop in the top Bombay share index , meaning valuations look stretched, analysts said.
Cement shipments rose 7 percent last quarter to 28.9 million tonnes from a year ago, despite the annual drop in demand over the rainy season and a nationwide truckers' strike.
Cement prices in India, the world's biggest cement consumer after China, were about 15 percent higher, on average, at 145 rupees per 50-kg bag from year-ago levels.
Analysts said a construction boom in the Middle East, fuelled by record-breaking oil prices, pushed cement prices in the international market to about $45 per tonne, up nearly 40 percent from a year ago.
Net profit at Gujarat Ambuja, the nation's third-biggest cement maker by capacity and the top exporter, is forecast to jump 428 percent to a median 955 million rupees for last quarter, according to a Reuters poll of 13 brokerages. The firm, which owns a 14 percent stake in ACC, reports on Wednesday. .
"With no fresh capacity coming up in the near future, we expect the demand-supply equation to shift toward manufacturers, thereby boosting prices," ICICI Securities wrote in a pre-earnings report released last week.
Some 54 companies together produced 117 million tonnes of cement in the fiscal year ended March, while consumption was 113.8 million tonnes, up 5.8 percent from a year ago.
The report also said the Middle East boom should continue to drive export growth.
